I'm back from Baltimore and the Borderlands Press Short Fiction Boot Camp.
I've never been to Baltimore and wanted to see the Edgar Allen Poe gravesite. I never made it. But I'm not disappointed. I spent the weekend immersed in crafting short fiction, meeting fellow authors, and round table discussions.
I returned exhausted but validated. I received feedback from the four instructors and twenty other "grunts." I know now more about what I'm doing right and what I need to improve.
I met a tremendous group of people. My goal now is to get an online critique group going so that we can capitalize on the experience and hopefully be supportive of each other as we implement the skills we've learned.
Participating in this workshop was well worth the cost. Now it's off to the keyboard to put these skills to work.
